Science Night

Our annual Family Science Night is next Wednesday, February 1st from 6:00-7:30pm.  All students, families and friends are welcome to join us for this evening of discovery, play, exploration and learning about the importance of science and engineering in our daily lives!  All science and engineering activities are FREE and interactive. At this event you may view the world through infrared cameras, meet local and not so local animals, explore and identify gems and minerals, learn about our tidal animals as well as the marine sanctuary, use microscopes to learn about cancer detection, zoom into nanoscience, wire a circuit, print in 3D, identify and experience the laws of physics, and much more.  If you want to get involved or have questions please contact Wendy Ibsen, parent wendus@gmail.com.

In addition, Adams will have a dinner available (children free, adults $4) until 6:00pm as well as a Bake Sale with $1.00 treats throughout the evening.

This is sure to be an inspiring and educational event for the whole family, so mark your calendars for February 1st!

Valentine’s Day/Cupid’s Fun Run

We will begin our morning with a Cupid’s Fun Run at 9:00am where students will have an opportunity to chase their teacher’s around the playground.

Just a friendly reminder that all children are to make creative Valentine’s for everyone in their class to be distributed on Tuesday, February 14th.

Let’s not leave one student out J.

NOAA Ocean Guardian School Project

Adams Elementary School’s main goal for the NOAA Ocean Guardian School grant is to continue building off our initial efforts to reduce waste on campus through increased use of reusable items, composting and recycling, all with the aim of moving towards a zero waste cafeteria and other school-based areas. At an all-school assembly on Wednesday morning, students learned about environmental education and the impacts of marine debris and plastic pollution.

Many thanks to Adams parents, Claire Fackler and John Peltz, for their leadership with this project!
