SPRING FUNDRAISING WAS A ROARING SUCCESS
We are so grateful to our amazing Adams community for going above and beyond to support our school! You came through in a big way—and the results are incredible!
Our Roar Run brought in a whopping $33,263 to support classroom supplies, community events, and field trips. Even more impressive—74% of those donations came from outside our school community! What an incredible show of support and outreach!
And thanks to your hard work and dedication of the parking lot crew, our Fair Parking Lot fundraiser added another $17,053 to our Tigers in the Wild fund, helping make 5th grade camp and field trips for all students possible.
Thank you for your energy, generosity, and Tiger spirit. We couldn’t do it without you!
CALM CORNER
The Mental Health Benefits of Mixed-Age Play
When children play in mixed-age groups, they gain valuable social and emotional skills that support their mental well-being. Older children often take on leadership and nurturing roles, helping them build empathy and confidence, while younger children benefit from observing and learning from more advanced peers. According to psychologist Peter Gray, mixed-age play encourages cooperation over competition and allows children to learn at their own pace without the pressures of same-age performance standards. This dynamic fosters a more inclusive and emotionally supportive environment, which can reduce stress and promote self-esteem.
Mixed-age play also supports resilience and adaptability, as children must navigate different communication styles and problem-solving approaches. The American Academy of Pediatrics notes that unstructured, imaginative play—especially with a range of ages—strengthens emotional regulation and peer relationships. In playgrounds, neighborhoods, or family settings, these interactions provide opportunities for mentoring, creativity, and the development of a strong sense of community. Encouraging mixed-age play is a natural and enriching way to support children's mental health and social growth.

Adams Tigers Are Sharp! is our theme as we gear up for the CAASPP tests. Since breakfast will be served before school, there will NOT be breakfast served at recess. Please make sure your student arrives at school each day with enough time to eat, and consider sending them with an extra snack for recess.
