NEW INFORMATION THIS WEEK

FAMILY READING NIGHT TONIGHT!

Our Family Reading Night is tonight from 5-7pm. Thank you to Mrs. Chalmers and all the volunteers for putting together such a fun, creative, and engaging night for our families. We hope you enjoy the time with other families and friends!

READING COUNTS FUN-DRAISER

Look for the Reading Counts! Lectura Cuenta! packet and donation envelope in today’s Thursday folder. Support your child’s reading goals by donating money and books to Adams! Students track each minute that they read outside of school and focus on reading as much as possible. Family, friends, and neighbors donate money to the PTA for our Design Center and after school enrichment scholarships.

Our goal is to raise at least $5000. If every student donates $10 we will meet this goal! And if each student reads at least 30 minutes each day for 1 week -- Adams wins a Kona ice party!

Donate here https://secure.qgiv.com/for/readingcountslecturacuenta and/or return the envelope.

Join us at the Family Reading Night and start counting the minutes!

NO PARKING AT EARL WARREN ALL WEEK

Plan ahead, there is no parking available to Adams staff or parents all week at Earl Warren due to their Orchid Show from March 6 to 10. Kindergarten parents can pull in the lot for drop-off this week if you are comfortable with them walking down to the playground on their own, but this can not become typical practice. Thank you all for understanding.

PARENT CONFERENCES ARE COMING UP

Please look for sign-ups for your individual student’s parent conference from your classroom teacher. We request to meet with every family during the dates of March 17 - 24 when we will have minimum days with school out at noon for all grades.

SPRING BREAK DATES

Plan ahead, there is no school from March to 27 to 31 for spring break.

How to Motivate Children: Science-Based Approaches for Parents, Caregivers, and Teachers:

What’s the best way to motivate children? The intrinsic motivation to learn about the world around us begins in infancy. This type of motivation can either be encouraged or suppressed by the experiences adults provide for children. Psychological research points to a set of promising approaches that parents and practitioners can use to promote positive motivation and learning during development. Read the article below for more information and tips.
