NEW INFORMATION THIS WEEK
OPEN BOOK PROJECT: SBEF
The Santa Barbara Education Foundation has supported critical literacy programs for students and teachers in the Santa Barbara Unified School District through its Literacy Project. With community help, they are now committed to cultivating a culture of reading that extends beyond the classroom. This year, to celebrate the District’s launch of its first new literacy curriculum since 2015, they are launching the Open Books Project. The goal is simple: raise funds to send 2,500 new books home with every TK-3rd grade student and their family during the 23-24 school year. Adams students in grades TK - 3 will all receive two free books on Thursday, March 7 as a result. We are so lucky to have the community partnership! These books will tie into the curriculum and support new vocabulary and concepts they are learning in the classroom.
WE WILL GO BACK TO SERVING LUNCH IN THE CAFETERIA NEXT WEEK
The cafe is open! We are super excited to serve breakfast and lunch again from our cafe starting on Tuesday, March 5. The kitchen is not open, meaning they will not actually prepare the food here, but that will come back next year. However, we are pleased to share that the salad bar will be open again. Remind your students to choose some fresh fruit and vegetables from the salad bar to compliment their meal.
LOST AND FOUND
Please stop by the Lost and Found to pick up your items! We have many jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles and lunch boxes. All remaining items will be donated on the last day of school before spring break, Friday, March 22.
