VALENTINES DAY WEAR PINK AND RED
On Wednesday, February 14, in observance of Valentines Day, the student council is encouraging your students to show their love for their friends and school by wearing pink and red to school. School District dress code rules apply. If you send Valentines to school for a class party, we prefer that you not include chocolate or candy for your friends.
TOMORROW IS THE 100th DAY OF SCHOOL FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9
On Friday, February 9th, students are encouraged to dress like they are 100 years old for the 100th day of school. TK and Kinder students will have alternative suggested attire and an at-home craft for in-class activities for this day. Please look for more details from your classroom teachers.
TOMORROW IS ALSO WALK & ROLL TO SCHOOL DAY & FRESCH COFFEE
Walk, ride a bike or scooter, or ride the bus to school tomorrow to reduce traffic and air emissions and get some exercise! There will be stickers and smoothies before school and parents are invited to stick around for Fresch Coffee after Friday Flag.
READING COUNTS - LOGS & ENVELOPES DUE TOMORROW FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9
We hope everyone had a fun week of reading! Don’t forget to turn in reading logs and fundraising envelopes to teachers tomorrow, Friday, February 9th. Students will be entered into a prize raffle for every 30 minutes they read. Top readers in each class and top fundraisers will also be recognized and the class with the most minutes will receive a Jersey Mike’s party. If we meet our school wide goal of 80,000 minutes, students will earn a Kona Ice Party!
ELAC MEETING DATE CHANGED
Our next meeting for ELAC has been rescheduled to Monday, February 12th on Zoom at 6:00. This meeting is for emergent multilingual families of students who have yet to reclassify. We will discuss reclassification. Individual reports have gone home in your Thursday folders for you to reference during the meeting. This will also help you prepare for March Parent/Teacher conferences.
FRIDAY FLAG ON THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15
Because there is no school on February 16, Friday Flag will be held on Thursday. Join us at 8:30 am on the playground. Top Readers and raffle winners for our Reading Counts fundraiser will be announced!
THURSDAY, Feb 22nd - 7 PM DISTRICT HONOR BAND CONCERT
You are all invited to attend the SBUSD District Honor Concert featuring Elementary, Junior and High school students from our music program. The concert will be held on Thursday, Feb 22nd at La Cumbre Middle School at 7 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to support your students and their families as well as see the K-12 pipeline for music.
5th and 6th GRADE CAMP PARENT LETTERS
4th-grade and 5th-grade parents: please look for a letter regarding an opportunity to send your 4th or 5th grader to camp next year as a 5th or 6th grader. Fundraising efforts need to begin soon to be able to send our students to camp next year and it will take everyone’s help.

The Student Council will be selling Cupid Grams from February 8 to the 14th before school. Students or parents can buy them for themselves or for a friend. Just stop by the table with your $1.00 bills.
