Due to school closures the Talent Show try-outs were postponed and have rescheduled for after school on January 23.

Santa Barbara Unified School District has been in the process of evaluating safeguards for our student devices that will help filter out irrelevant and harmful content on campus and at home. The YouTube app is categorized as a 17+ Social Media app. Because we cannot guarantee a safe and secure YouTube experience for our elementary students at this time, the YouTube app was removed from all student iPads on Friday, December 16. Students will continue to have access to YouTube through the browser on their student iPads for school related material. This is because our district content filters are more robust when using a web browser.

Resilience
Resilience is not something that some people have and others don’t have. We are all born with the capacity for resilience, and it is something we work on throughout our lives. We can start building children’s resilience very early in life by providing them with a secure, caring relationship that helps them get through life’s inevitable challenges. Parents are the most important people to help build their children’s resilience. When parents role model resilience in every day interactions, they are teaching their children positive ways to handle stress and recover from set-backs. Below, you will learn how you can help your children develop strengths and gather support that builds resilience.
