*PARENTS AT FRIDAY FLAG REMINDER
It is with great sadness that we need to put a pause back on this welcome. Due to the influx of COVID on school campuses, we will suspend large group activities that include outside guests. As soon as we are able to invite you back we will!
NEW INFORMATION THIS WEEK
Adams completed COVID testing of all eligible and present students on campus last Friday, Monday, and Tuesday of this week. We are proud of the staff and students’ swift response and teamwork to complete this large task. We are thankful to our parents who are keeping their students home if they exhibit COVID symptoms or other winter illnesses, proud of the students’ response to wearing masks, and grateful of all staff who have worked to ensure students are safe when on campus. As a result of this teamwork, we have a very low number of students testing positive or contracting COVID on campus and hope we can continue on this path. Stay safe and well!
*Schools now have access to N95 masks for students. If you want your child to wear an N95 mask they can come get one from Miss Patti in the parking lot or from the office each day. They are not mandatory, but available.

I visited Adams elementary school this week through Zoom. Please feel free to email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, or our family engagement liaison, Israel Vega, at email@example.com, if you have any questions for your seventh-grader.

3-Step Action Plan for How to Cope with COVID Burnout
Tell Yourself Today: “Yes, I am frustrated. Yes, this is a difficult time. And yes, I will get through this.”
- Feelings don’t give us problems. Rejecting our feelings gives us problems.
Translate This Idea into A Strategy:
- Give yourself permission to feel anxious, angry, burned-out.
A Script to Tell Yourself Today:
- “I feel depleted. That makes sense and I’m allowed to feel that way.”

ADAMS ANNUAL SPELLING BEE AND TALENT SHOW UPDATE
The Spelling Bee will take place in the afternoon on Zoom on January 28. Students who will participate will be notified next week so they can practice at home. The Talent Show has been put on hold for the time being until we
can bring the students together safely in the cafe to try out and practice. Look for more information in the future.
This year our Winter Holiday Concerts scheduled for both January 14 and 21 will be recorded and sent home at the end of January. We are still not in a space to allow for indoor large group gatherings, so we plan to bring the individual classes together, masked to perform, and record the celebrations. Mrs. Dutton will put the recordings together and send them home when a video / website is compiled. Thank you for understanding.
