THURSDAY MESSAGE JUNE 2, 2022
Hortencia Corral

ROAR CARD
Congratulations to the parent volunteers that we celebrated at our most recent Friday Flag. We look forward to more families joining us each Friday, next year, when we come together as a school community to celebrate each other!

GOODBYE TO 2021-2022
As we close out the 2021-22 school year I’d like to thank you for your patience and support during another challenging school year. Although we did not start off the year together in a traditional sense, it sure has felt more like normal with each passing month. Bringing families back on campus for Maker Faire, Open House,The Claw production, and promotion, gave me such joy. I really appreciate the kindness and enthusiasm felt by all, as you celebrated alongside our staff and students. Together we are stronger and can come back better than ever in the fall! Be safe and well. Enjoy family time. And Read, Read, Read this summer!

SUPPLY WISH LIST
In today’s Thursday Message you will find an attached supply wish list for the 2022-2023 school year. This is just a wish list. Parents are not required to provide all these items, but if you would like to donate items specific to your grade level for student’s use in the classroom we will gladly accept your donation. Adams spends approximately $35,000 annually on instructional supplies. Your donated items would free up money which then could be spent on other essential instructional resources such as technology, software programs, professional development, and books. We are sending the wish list now in case your family shops during the sales events over the summer break. The items can then be brought to your individual teachers in the fall when we hope to return and classes are assigned. SEE ATTACHMENT

MEDICATION PICK-UP
If your student has medication in the Health Office, those medications must be picked up no later than June 2nd at 12pm.  The medication(s) must be picked up and signed for by an adult.  If the medication(s) is not picked up, it will be discarded by June 16, 2022. If you have any questions or would like to make other arrangements for the medication pick up, please call the health office 805-563-2515 ext. 1042. If you would like your child to have medication at school for the next school year, you may also pick up a new medication form at school and have it filled out by your doctor over the summer.  Bring the completed form and the medication in its original labeled container to the health office on the first day of school. Thank you, The Health Office

Summer Activities for Kids
Children have a lot of free time on their hands and it can be overwhelming to maintain their day-to-day activities during summer.  So how can parents keep their children structured, organized and active in the summer months?
The Activity List for Kids (worksheet attached) is a list of fun, engaging, and healthy activities that kids can use as a guide during summer. Read the list with your child, circle activities that look fun, and collaborate with children and their caregivers to create a schedule of daily activities.  Also included below are links to tips for practical summer parenting and ideas to fight off summer boredom.
