NEW INFORMATION THIS WEEK

BREAKFAST DURING MINIMUM DAYS

On minimum days, when school is out at 12:10 pm, from March 15 to 22 breakfast will be served BEFORE school. During the school day we will serve “brunch,” but because we only have one break on these short days we will provide breakfast before school.  Students can stop by the cafe from 8:00 to 8:30 am to pick-up breakfast to eat at the tables outside. Kindergartners should eat inside the cafe with their parent.

PARENT CONFERENCES START TOMORROW

Please look for sign-ups for your individual student’s parent conference from your classroom teacher. We request to meet with every family during the dates of March 15 - 22 when we will have minimum days with school out at 12:10 pm for all grades. See Family Guides to Grade Level/End of Course Expectations to help set goals: https://www.sbunified.org/academics/grade-level-expectations

ELPAC (English Learner Proficiency Assessment for California)

The ELPAC is in progress. Get your child to bed on time and make sure they have a nutritious breakfast now through the next two weeks. The ELPAC Test is given only to our multilingual students. It is composed of 4 domains: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Here is a link for you to use so that your child can continue to practice. You’ll need to log in as a guest.  All students take the speaking test individually but 3rd-6th graders take the Reading, Writing, and Listening tests as a whole group on their iPads. From March 11-15, all students in grade 3-6 will take the group tests.  Please do not pick up students from 9:00-10:00 AM next week so that they can take the test uninterrupted. This is an important test that helps us better understand your child’s English proficiency. If your child is in grades K-2, they will continue to take the ELPAC individually with a test examiner. Please contact the assistant principal at hcorral@sbunified.org or call extension 1041 if you have any questions.

Please stop by the Lost and Found to pick up your items! We have many jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles and lunch boxes. All remaining items will be donated on the last day of school before spring break, Friday, March 22.
