A Salute to Teachers
Mr. Larsen, our Music teacher, will be getting honored and recognized at the SBCEO Salute to Teachers Awards ceremony as the “Performing Arts Teacher of the Year” on Saturday, November 5th at the Lobero Theatre. Our 5-6th grade Band students will also be performing in his honor.
I would love for Adams school to have a strong cheering section for Mr. Larsen and our students.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for Sale
Our 5-6th grade students are selling a box of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for $12 (1 dozen) to fundraise for their Science Camps. Our front office is also placing orders until October 24th. The doughnuts will be available for pick-up on October 28th after 9am.
Kona Shaved Ice for Sale
On Friday, October 14, we will be selling Kona shaved ice immediately afterschool to support our fifth grade student’s Astro Camp adventures.
Shaved ice will be for sale at the following options: $2, $3, $4 and $5. The students will receive 20% of all sales to support Astro Camp.
Welcome New School Site Council Board Members
I would like to introduce and welcome the new parents members that have been elected to serve on the School’s Site Council:
Theresa Huerta, Dan Brooks and Shannon Kwast
Everyone is invited to come to school dressed in costume on Friday, October 28th. We will be holding our Kindergarten and 1st Grade Costume Parade on the Playground around 8:45am. Please no scary costumes with fake blood. Students are not allowed to bring pretend guns or knives to school as well. All students will be dismissed early at 12:00pm.
If your child is in need of a costume, one will be provided at no cost. Please submit the form attached to your child’s teacher and we will be sure to get your child a costume of his/her choice.
We will be holding our Fall Harvest Festival on Thursday, October 20th from 4:30-6:30pm (New time and date) at Adams Elementary School. All families are encouraged come enjoy face painting, bounce houses, cupcake walk, pony rides, games, food and live music. Admission is $5 a person to enjoy all the festivities with all food being an additional cost.
Disability Awareness Day
Sandy Shove (former Adams parent) from the Autism Society of America, Santa Barbara Chapter, will be presenting to our students on how to understand students with Autism during a morning assembly on October 21st. In the afternoon, Chris Benedict from DJ Ability will be hosting a dance party for every grade level.
