THURSDAY MESSAGE SEPTEMBER 20, 2018

Adams Student Council

ROAR CARD~ Congratulations to the following Roar Card Winners, Marianna Martinez, Elizabeth Secena Vasquez, Vida Hernandez, Braelyn Boyle, Jayden Lemmons, Zoe Medina, Zelia Lopez, Faviola Cortez, Sophia Gantes, Alana Brooks! Thank you for making Responsible, Organized, Academic Respectful choices!

We are so close to reaching our school fundraising goal of $40,000.00 for TigerLove!! Thanks to those generous families who have donated, we are sitting at $35,200.00! We are very grateful, but we still have a bit more work to do. Remember: The $650.00 Biz Builder advertising promotion ends TOMORROW (Friday, 9/21). If you're a parent who owns their own business, and would like to have your company's personalized banner proudly displayed outside our school, please contact Jennifer Hale jenniferhale@hotmail.com And, don't forget about the EXTRA-RECESS-POPSICLE-PARTY for ALL classrooms who have 100% of their students donate! No matter if it's a little or A LOT, make your donation count! The last day to turn in your donations is: Friday, 9/28. Thank you!

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT~ Thank you to the parents that joined us for BTSN on Monday. We really appreciate your participation and attendance. Connecting with parents at the beginning of the year is essential for setting the tone for grade level specific standards and program specifics. We had 388 individuals sing in, representing only 65% of our students. If you were not able to attend BTSN, your child’s teacher will be sending home the packet of information in the Thursday Folder, if they have not done so already. Please, please, please read through it, and contact your classroom teacher if you have any questions.

EARBUDS~ Adams is asking each parent to make a donation of earbuds for their own student’s to use at school. We feel it is best for hygiene reasons. Students can bring their own earbuds in a baggie and we can store them in the classroom so students don’t have take them back and forth from school to home.  Regular iPhone and iPad cell phone compatible earbuds can be purchased at the 99-cent store and brought to school for use with school devices. We have also purchased an allotment that can be bought in the front office for $3. Thank you for this donation to support student use of devices in the classrooms.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE READING AND WRITING WORKSHOPS IN ACTION?~ Are you interested in seeing how these new approaches look in our classrooms at Adams?  You can take a peek into our classrooms, and see what our amazing teachers and students are doing during literacy each week by following @adams_literacy on Instagram!
