WHAT IS THE PTA?
The Adams PTA is an organization consisting of parents, teachers, families of the school and administrators. Our main purpose is to help create a positive and productive school community for teachers, parents, and children. All parents are invited to join the PTA for $10 per person per year. Everyone is encouraged to participate in PTA meetings.
While we do coordinate vital fundraising events throughout the year, we also support many other important community-building programs and events, such as:
- Back To School Night
- Community Building Events (Dia de los Muertos Festival, Reclassification Celebration, Movie Under the Stars)
- Science Night, Maker Fair
- Open House, Book Fair & Art Show
- 5th-6th Overnight Camps
- After School Enrichment Classes
- School Beautification
- School Garden, and much, much more!
WHEN DOES THE PTA MEET?
We welcome you to our Tiger Parent meetings held the second Tuesday of the month for 6:30-7:30pm.
I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO COMMIT TO ORGANIZE AN EVENT. CAN I STILL COME TO MEETINGS?
YES!!! The meetings are a great way to know what events are going on at our school. Additionally we are always looking for parent volunteers throughout the year via Parentsquare. We encourage all parents to do what you can, when you can. It takes a village and every little bit helps!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY RAISED GO?
All students at Adams benefit directly from the four major fundraisers. The PTA funds support our school Specials programs (PE, Music, Art, Design, Writing Specialist) as well as classroom supplies for the individual grade level teachers. We also support learning curriculum (iPad apps), technology and teachers’ continued professional development.
To become involved or if you have any questions, please contact any of the PTA Board members.
FUN FACT: Did you know that we work with our teachers to make sure they can fund classroom supplies and annual field trips? We provide an annual classroom stipend of $600 for each and every teacher at Adams. When you support the PTA and Adams, you are contributing to the well-being of each child. Thank you!
